It is Time to Talk day and people in Bridlington and the East Riding are being urged to start a conversation about mental health.
Residents are asked to speak to someone who's struggling and see if they are OK.
Jack Moore works for Hull and East Yorkshire Mind and said:
"Obviously we are still running as a 24-hour service and we are getting a mixture of calls from a range of different people; from young people, to adults, to NHS workers and to teachers. But I think it's just important that the public remember that if they are struggling, that is what we're here for so please do just get in touch with us.
"We are just encouraging local people to reach out and have conversations with a friend, a family member, a colleague or a complete stranger. A small conversation has the power to make such a big difference.
"In terms of mental health, asking someone how they're feeling can really support someone to recover and get well, or that cuts their journey towards getting further support to feel better."
It has come out that more people in Yorkshire and the Humber have felt the need to take time off because of their mental health during the pandemic - than anywhere else in England.
Jack added:
"I think it's so worrying that people have identified that they are struggling but didn't take the time off to get well or recover. It's a really worrying statistic."
