Bridlington's Practice Two GP service acquired by Humber NHS Trust

Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust has acquired Practice Two in Bridlington.
The practice, based at the Medical Centre in the town, is now one of three GP services operated by the Trust in Bridlington alongside Field House and Manor House surgeries.
The Trust operates nine GP practices in total - two in Hull, and seven in the East Riding of Yorkshire.
The practice will formally join the Trust, welcoming 20 new members of staff, including local GPs Dr Hardman and Dr Cooling.
Michele Moran, Chief Executive at Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust, said:
“I am delighted to welcome Practice Two, its team and patients to our Trust. We are committed to improving healthcare in Bridlington, by providing high quality and accessible care for all. This is a great opportunity to broaden our primary care offering in the area and we are pleased that our practices will be able to work together, using their wide range of skills and expertise to best support the local community.”
Peter Beckwith, Director of Finance at Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust, said:

Practice Two has shown high levels of patient and staff satisfaction over the years and we hope to build on that as we drive forward our ambitions to provide integrated physical and mental health services for the populations we serve.”
The Trust will work closely with Practice Management throughout this process of change and collaborative working with the remaining practices continues to be successful.
Dr Mike Hardman from Practice Two, said:
"We are very pleased to be joining Humber, as this will allow us to continue to develop services for our patients and the wider community in Bridlington. We see this as an important step to enable Primary Care in Bridlington to face future challenges with confidence.
We would like to reassure patients that the practice remains open as usual and that no action needs to be taken in order to maintain their registration.”
The Trust says it has played a key role in developing a strategy that supports Bridlington to ensure the provision of sustainable, high quality, integrated health care for residents.
The Trust also says it has been a lead partner in the Brid Inc. led initiative, which aims to address future skills shortages in Health and Social Care across Bridlington. This involved the development of the Bridlington Health and Social Care Academy, which works in partnership with local education establishments to provide mentorship and inspire tomorrow’s health and social care workforce.
