The Mayor of Bridlington is praising the resilience of the community through lockdown, and has thanked them for following restrictions.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson says July the 19th is still "looking good" as the end point for all restrictions in England.

Liam Dealtry said:

"Nobody's reported any incidents to me where people have stepped out of line so 10/10 for all of the visitors and obviously for the locals. It's been good and everyone's abided by the regulations and if everyone keeps as we're going then we're going to get there.

"It's so nice to see on a morning when I walk around the town all these shops that are open, new pubs, new ventures and it's fantastic. It's a phoenix from the ashes again. We're only going to get bigger and better. It's our time now, work together, Why go to Benidorm when you've got a Brid or Scarborough?

"We're going to get there and in a month's time hopefully the nightclubs will be open again and we'll be able to get back to normal. We just need to keep as we are, keep within the Government regulations and the relevant council regulations, just abide by the rules and regulations and we'll all be alright."
