A Bridlington man has been charged with seven offences when he failed to stop for police over the weekend.

Ryan Laing, 22, of St Hilda Street has been remanded in custody to appear at Hull Magistrates Court today after he was charged on Saturday night.

He was arrested on Saturday 30 October on Georgian Way in Bridlington after he had failed to stop the Skoda Fabia he was driving and struck a lamppost.

Mr. Laing has been charged with seven offences including assaulting a police officer, a public order offence, drink driving and four driving offences of dangerous driving, driving whilst uninsured, driving without a licence and failing to stop for the police.

The force says the officer assaulted has thankfully not sustained serious injuries from the incident and remained on duty to continue to serve the public.
