There's been an arson attack to a large haystack at a farm in Bridlington.

It happened at around 9.45pm on Sunday (20th September) off Pinfold Lane in the town.

Humberside Police, who were called by the fire service, say they suspect the fire had been started deliberately.

Officers say the fire has caused over £400 worth of hay to be destroyed.

Humberside Police said:

"Not only has this incident tied up fire crews for a number of hours, but it has resulted in a financial impact to the landowner. We advise members of the public to stay away from Haystacks, they are highly flammable and a discarded match or cigarette can easily start a fire with devastating consequences."

If you witnessed anything in relation to this incident or know who is responsible for starting the fire, call Humberside Police on 101 quoting investigation number 16/98908/20 or Log 627 20/09/20, or Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111.
