Police in Scarborough are appealing for witnesses and information after a vehicle failed to stop at the scene of a crash.

Police in Scarborough are appealing for witnesses and information after a vehicle failed to stop at the scene of a crash.

It happened on Westbourne Grove at around 3.40am on Friday 18th September.

Police say a parked Vauxhall Astra was hit by an unknown vehicle and the driver failed to stop at scene and had left prior to the arrival of officers.

The parked car suffered extensive rear end damage and the force of the collision moved the vehicle into the centre of the road.

Police are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

In particular, they are appealing for information about the second vehicle involved. If you were driving this vehicle or know who was, then you are asked to contact the police.

If you witnessed the incident or saw a vehicle driving around Scarborough with front end damage at around 4am on the 18th of September, officers would also like to hear from you.
