Scarborough’s coronavirus infection rate has risen once again, but it remains the lowest in North Yorkshire.

The seven day infection rate, per 100,000 people, is now 30, a rise of two on yesterday and four on Friday.

Despite the increase in the rate, the borough is still the lowest in North Yorkshire, with Scarborough averaging five new cases every day.

The average infection rate in England is now 57 per 100,000, while in North Yorkshire as a whole it is 46, the same as yesterday.

The next lowest district is Craven which has rate of 37, followed by Harrogate and Ryedale, which are both currently at 38 per 100,000 people.
