Another coronavirus infection rate drop for Scarborough

Scarborough’s coronavirus infection rate has continued to fall.

The borough’s seven day infection rate per 100,000 people has fallen to 60 since yesterday, a drop of 9.

Scarborough is now averaging 9 new cases every day, compared to 17 last week.

The average infection rate for England stands at 137 while in North Yorkshire as a whole has now dropped to 97.

In the last seven days the Whitby South and East area has seen the most new cases in the borough with 14, followed by Falsgrave and South Cliff with 13 and then Filey and Hunmanby with 9.

Mobile testing facilities will be available in Whitby, Scarborough and Filey this week for anyone with symptoms to get tested.
