52 Covid-19 fines handed out across Scarborough in the past week
That's the most in North Yorkshire over the last seven days
A further 52 fines have been handed out to people breaking covid regulations across the coast.
Breaches in the last seven days included organising indoor and outdoor gatherings and not having a valid reason for being out in public.
Superintendent Mike Walker from North Yorkshire Police says they will keep up patrols across Scarborough once the lockdown has ended;
"The infection rate on the Yorkshire coast is reducing. However, the policing presence won't reduce. We won't to build on this and keep the public safe.
"The vast majority of the public are doing the right thing and sticking to the restrictions. It's up to us to make sure the progress which's been made isn't jeopardised by those who aren't abiding by the rules.
"The public in Filey, Scarborough and Whitby can expect to see us around though, and we will issue fixed penalty notices if necessary, although most people are doing a fantastic job in helping to slow the spread of coronavirus."
