31 schools in North Yorkshire have had cases of coronavirus.
The County Council says that's affected 69 people, roughly an equal split between pupils and staff.
The authority says the schools are fairly evenly spread throughout the county with the exception of Ryedale which has none.
Stuart Carlton, Director of Children and Young Peoples' Services, said:
"You should have strong confidence that schools are safe places for children; and strong confidence that the school and the local authority are taking the necessary proportionate action quickly where needed, so you should have confidence that your child is safe at school.
"We would encourage you to speak to your school if you're worried but children should be in school; they need their education and they are safe places for children, and we're making sure they remain so.
"Children's education is really important and actually for children, and forgive me because I know there are adults around them, but the impact of not having education is far worse an outcome for them than the virus is. So we have to balance all of that together.
"We knew with the schools coming back, and the beginning of the rates increasing, that we would have schools in these scenarios. We planned for it, we knew these things would happen and we have measures in place. I'm still confident about the measures."
