A further 20 coronavirus cases have been added to Scarborough’s total in the last 24 hours.

It brings the borough’s total, since the start of the pandemic, to 1,114.

The borough’s seven-day infection rate per 100,000 people, has now risen to 99, after 108 new cases in the last week.

On Sunday, a mobile testing facility will be at Scarborough’s Seamer Road park and ride site.

The testers will then be back in Whitby on Monday, at the town’s Guisborough Road park and ride site.

The testing has been organised by the Department of Health and Social Care, which has warned people to not just turn up but make an appointment first.

There are two ways to do this, depending on which testing group you are part of.

Anyone who is showing coronavirus symptoms should register for a test on the NHS website at www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/

People who do not have access to the internet, or who have difficulty with the digital portals, can ring the 119 service to book.

Tests can be booked at https://www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test.
