Three arrested over stolen and abandoned car in Sandsend
Offensive weapons were found inside the car
Three people have been arrested as part of a joint operation by North Yorkshire and Cleveland Police.
They found a large machete, a hunting knife and other weapons inside of and discarded nearby the stolen car near Whitby in the early hours of Monday morning
Two people, a man aged 24, and a 16 year old boy have been released on bail, while an 18 year man has been remanded in custody, for unrelated offenses.
The stolen car had been crashed into barriers, and an agricultural buggy from a nearby farm was also reported stolen, although it was found later by officers.
The arrests were made as part of Operation Alibi, a cross-border initiative between North Yorkshire Police and Cleveland Police, aiming to combat the theft of farm machinery.
