Vigil held in York tonight for Brianna Ghey
The teenager was fatally stabbed in a park in Warrington on Saturday
A candlelight vigil will be held in York tonight in memory of 16 year old Brianna Ghey.
The transgender schoolgirl was killed in a park in Cheshire last weekend.
Tonight people will gather in St Helen's Square from 6o'clock. Crow Rudd is one of the organisers and explains the plans: "We're going to have some open mic times, so people from within the community can come and talk and off load, we are also going to have some quiet reflection and mourning time for Brianna.".
Crow says he's expecting a big turnout from the trans community but the vigil is open to absolutely everyone: "Anyone who wants to just come and show their support, show their mourning with us, we're all in this together at the end of the day, we're all people trying to make our way. Anyone who wants to pay their respects can come."
Two 15-year-olds are being questioned on suspicion of murder.
