The Hilt in York say they have decided to withdraw their application

A "Viking experience" venue in York says they've had a re think and won't allow customers to drink alcohol before they start throwing axes.

The Hilt had put in an application to the Council for the license and a decision was due next week, but now the plans have been pulled.

Josh Goodwin is in charge and says having a drink would have only been a small part of the experience. He also says they thought it might stop people trying to squeeze extra drinks in before they arrived at their session.

But he's told Greatest Hits Radio after listening to people's concerns they've decided to cancel their application.
