York teenager who died after taking illegal drugs is named

He was just 15 years old.

Police have named the York teenager who died on Sunday (27th September) after taking illegal drugs.

His name was Josh Reeson, who was from the New Earswick area of York.

Officers were alerted to the incident by the ambulance service at around 7.10am on Sunday, after Josh was found by a member of the public in an alley off Hospital Fields Road in York, shortly before 4am.

It's believed he was with a group of others also taking illegal drugs, and an investigation is currently underway.

Two 14 year old boys who were arrested have now been released under investigation. Police say a 15 year old girl, a 16 year old boy, a 33 year old woman and a 37 year old man all remain in custody.

North Yorkshire Police have asked that the family's privacy is respected at this traumatic time.
