We have been hearing how the cost of living crisis is making some University students feel more isolated than ever.

Tamazeir Chowdhury is in her third year at the University of York and says they're having to cut down on socialising to save money.

She tells us "If you spoke to me when I was a fresher we were going out every week, doing something and now we are going out maybe once or twice a month, and that'll be staying in and people pitching in to save money".

In a statement the University of York said "We know students will be concerned about the rising cost of living and we have a range of support measures in place to help those that need it most, including emergency loans, bursaries and scholarships.

We are here to help and students worried about their finances are encouraged to get in touch via our Student Hub team to find out about what support and advice is available.”
