York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals staff given day off for birthday
It's part the NHS Trust's "Great Big Thank You!"
Staff at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust are to receive an extra day off each year.
The day can be taken on their birthday, or on the nearest working day.
It's part of "The Great Big Thank You," to improve NHS staff members' wellbeing.
Posting on social media, the NHS Trust said: "We were going to call it ‘The Super Amazing Brilliant Huge Staff Thank You’ but apparently it wasn’t very catchy…
"It is important that we thank everyone individually, therefore we are offering all staff a day off on their birthday (or nearest working day). Time off is crucial for our wellbeing, and this gives everyone time to spend with family, friends or get some well-earned rest."
