A York man will travel back to Ukraine today to take vital supplies to the front line.

Stuart Paver has made several trips since the war started to take medicine and equipment to treat injured soldiers and civilians.

He tells us what it's like going so close to the fighting: "The first time that you hear artillery coming in, it's surreal but it's amazing how quickly you get used to it, and the people that are living there are facing it 24 hours a day 7 days a week."

He's tells us the supplies they take help save lives:

"We've had people tell us how they've given up with wounded people but the Celox has been the last resort and it has stopped the bleeding long enough for them to get to hospital."

This trip will see Stuart drop off stretchers and water purification tablets.

"We donated a field hospital with operating tables and lights and generators and everything else that we managed to acquire at a medical auction. It was brand new and we managed to get it for £10,000"

"Every penny donated to our Ukraine fundraiser is spent on medicines and lifesaving supplies at wholesale prices; no expenses, no overheads. We’re proud to be making a difference on the front line in Ukraine with the recent deployment of a field hospital, however more supplies are desperately which is why we’re continuing our fundraising efforts to raise money for evacuation stretchers and water purification tablets."
