York announced as host city for women's Rugby World Cup in 2025

Games will take place at the Community Stadium

York is among 8 UK cities to host games for the 2025 Women's Rugby World Cup.

Being hosted by England, some of the competition matches will take place at the Community Stadium.

The other seven venues are:

  • Sunderland - Stadium of Light
  • Brighton & Hove Albion - Brighton & Hove Albion Stadium
  • Bristol - Ashton Gate
  • Exeter - Sandy Park
  • London - Twickenham stadium
  • Manchester - Salford Community Stadium
  • Northampton - Franklin's Gardens

It will be the 10th edition of the women’s pinnacle global tournament which is expected to attract supporters from around the world.

The event will take place from August 22 to September 27, 2025 with the number of teams competing increased from 12 to 16.
