Woman attacked by gang as six-month son watched on

A woman in her 20s has been assaulted near Richmond - as her six month old son sat in his buggy.

The incident happened next to the brick bus shelter close to the Traveller's Rest public house in Skeeby, at approximately 10.40am on Thursday 14 June 2022.

The woman was assaulted by a group including one man and three women, with a man and a woman punching her.

The victim sustained bruising to her face and chest as a result of the assault.

North Yorkshire Police has requested the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

In particular, officers are appealing for information from two men who stopped to help the woman during the assault.

The offenders were said to have arrived in a black car, which they parked in the car park of the Traveller's Rest.

North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said:
