Yorkshire's Winter Wonderland at McArthurGlen Designer Outlet York has been forced to close today.

Bosses say it's due to the yellow weather warning for wind, but also say the high temperatures are to blame too.

It means the outdoor ice rink has had to close today.

Georgi Wood, the Event Organiser said for the 18 years it's been open, it's never experienced "unprecedented high temperatures and high winds that it has this December."

She also said: “We are absolutely devastated to have to make the decision to close Christmas Eve.

"It is our favourite day of the season and we love welcoming so many families and being part of their Christmas traditions. We only hope that by letting people know now, that they can plan their day.’’

They plan to reopen on Boxing Day.

The Met Office have issued the yellow weather warning for wind, they said there's a chance of damage to buildings and that power cuts may occur.
