Ukrainian refugee "forever grateful" to arrive in York
We've been hearing from one of the first refugees to arrive in North Yorkshire
A Ukrainian refugee says she'll never stop thanking the York family who've given her somewhere safe to stay.
24 year old Dasha thought she was going to die as she escaped from her flat in Kiev.
After a three week wait for her VISA she arrived here last night.
She says the family who have taken her in have "given her the chance to live" and she will "thank them every morning".
The latest Government stats show 39 Visas for Ukrainian refugees have been granted in York and 111 across North Yorkshire
