Two vehicles left the road and ended up in fields in North Yorkshire on Saturday night, after the day's heavy rain left standing water on the roads.

Firefighters were called to the A66 close to West Layton near Richmond shortly after 9pm.

Initially it was reported as a two vehicle collision, but it turned out to be two separate incidents that had happened at the same location.

Standing water on the road had caused two vehicles to leave the road and end up in fields on opposite sides of the road.

Luckily all people who were in the vehicles managed to get out and were unharmed.
