Two people have been arrested - after a man was attacked at his home near Northallerton.
It happened in Brompton last night - officers attended two addresses.
A 32 year-old man was arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent and possession of an offensive weapon.
A 52 year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to cause grievous bodily harm with intent.
They are currently in police custody.
