75 year-old Doreen Fox, 40 year-old Michael Fox, both of Peter Hill Drive, York, and 29 year-old Sophie Anne Glasbey of Snig Hill, Sheffield, have today been sentenced at York Crown Court today to prison sentences after pleading guilty to charges relating to the supply of Class A drugs and money laundering.
Doreen Fox received a seven month sentence, Michael Fox has been given four years and four months and Sophie Glasbey ten months.
They are the final three to be sentenced following an extensive police investigation which saw three others receive prison sentences towards the end of last year.
50 year-old Brett Lill of Flaxman Avenue, York, 28 year-old Ciaran Angell of The Croft, Strensall and 27 year-old Joshua Davenport of Grange Avenue, Rossendale, Lancashire, all plead guilty to conspiring to supply cocaine and were sentenced on 29 October 2021 at York Crown Court.
North Yorkshire Police Detective Constable Bev Hoban commented on the case:
“This investigation has led to the conviction of an Organised Crime Group who supplied cocaine into the communities of York and profited from doing so. The sentences will hopefully be a deterrent to others involved in drug dealing on the streets of York and North Yorkshire.
“Lill and Angell had been living a lifestyle beyond their means for a long time. They set up and operated businesses in York which we suspected had been financed through criminal gains from their drug dealing. We believe they used Michael Fox to deal on their behalf to keep themselves distanced from the street level supply, but still reap the financial rewards."
