Thousands take on Yorkshire marathon
It's described by organisers as one of the most 'breath taking' courses in the world
Thousands of runners are taking part in the Yorkshire Marathon today. The first competitors will set off at 9.30 from the University of York. The annual event raises vital funds for charity.
On their website the event is described as a 'monster success since day one. In many ways it’s the jewel in the White Rose County's sporting crown.
We like to think every element of The Yorkshire Marathon is charged with Yorkshire Spirit. Since the inaugural event in 2013, the event has got bigger and bigger. Every year, thousands of runners of all abilities take to its truly breath-taking course.'
