2 Primary schools near Malton have started running online sessions for families as well as classes for children.

Langton and Weaverthorpe say it's to help parents deal with the challenges of home-schooling.

As well as Teams and Zoom, the schools are issuing regular social media updates to bridge the gap between pupils learning in school, and those at home.

Langton Head teacher Rachel Ray said: “We are doing regular Teams meetings with families in the mornings, for social time and a feeling of togetherness.

"It is an opportunity for children to see each other. We use it to support learning.

"We are letting everyone know we are here and very much here to support them, so parents at home don’t think they cannot contact us.”

The schools say this shows mental wellbeing is a priority for children and their parents, and they've sent letters to parents to make that clear.

They're also putting extra sessions in place for people struggling with any subjects to have booster sessions, as well as regular rewards as normal!

The schools are keeping up with social activities for children and their families!
