Man hospitalised after attack and robbery in York

A man in his 50s was attacked and robbed of money whilst sat on a bench by Scarborough Bridge in York.

The incident happened at around 2pm on Monday 25th August.

He was hospitalised and had to undergo surgery for serious facial and head injuries.

The victim is still in hospital in a serious condition.

North Yorkshire Police have launched an investigation into the attack and are urging anyone with CCTV footage from around the time of the incident to come forward.
