Protests have taken place by the Malton and Norton skatepark - and Norton Town Council - as uncertainty continues over the future of the facility.

Campaigners gathered last night (Monday 23rd August) as part of efforts to reopen the closed-off park and to continue renovations which started back in June.

Last week on Wednesday 18th August a planned meeting between members of the campaign and Norton on Derwent Council was cancelled by councillors.

A petition was also set up back in July as part of plans to rescue the refurbishment plans - which have been backed by Olympian Sky Brown and US pro skater Tony Hawk.

We've contacted Norton Town Council for a statement.
