Police investigate reported assault of 13-year-old boy in York

North Yorkshire Police is investigating, after a report of a 13-year-old boy being assaulted in York.

The incident took place on Garnet Terrace around 4.30pm on Monday (31 May), and involved the 13-year-old being assaulted by a large group of youths.

Officers say the boy suffered a ripped T-shirt and red markings to his body.

In a statement, North Yorkshire Police added: "We are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

"In particular, we are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with CCTV in the area.
