Repair works on A1(M) expected to last into Saturday after lorry crash
One of the vehicles overturned, while another smashed through the central reservation
Drivers are being warned diversions will be in the place between junctions 51 and 52 on the A1(M) well into Saturday, after a crash involving two lorries.
One of the wagons was left on its side, while the other smashed through the central reservation, leaving debris across both carriageways.
Diversions are in place around Leeming Bar and Catterick, following the collision on Friday morning (February 10).
National Highways said: "Northbound traffic is being diverted off the A1M at junction 51 and onto the A6055.
"Drivers are advised to continue for around six miles on the A6055 before rejoining the A1M at J52.
"Drivers travelling southbound are advised to follow the same route, in reverse. "
