Improvements to Malton Library to make the building more energy efficient have been delayed for a month.

The work to replace windows is part of carbon-cutting measures at buildings run by the County Council, including schools and care homes.

The library was due to close from next Monday (Sept 6) until September 25th.

Due to a delay in getting materials for the project the work has now been pushed back to start from 18 October, running until 8 November.

County Councillor Greg White said:

"Given this short delay, we wanted to inform our customers that the library will now be open as usual during September.

"The work to be done in October will not only enhance the library, but is part of a wider programme bringing benefits across the county.

"While the library is closed, we hope regular users can visit other libraries or take advantage of our fantastic online resources."
