Police investigating after fireworks targeted at house in York

It happened in the Tang Hall area

Police are investigating three incidents in which fireworks were targeted at houses in the Tang Hall area of York.

It happened between 6.30pm and 7pm on Monday (3 November 2025) on Carter Avenue, Fourth Avenue and Olympian Court.

Fireworks were let off through letterboxes at two of the addresses and through the window of another, posing a serious risk to the occupants and the property.

Sergeant Luke Hutchinson, of the York Neighbourhood Policing Team, said:

“These incidents are clearly disturbing, and we are doing all we can to identify the suspects involved.

“Luckily there were no injuries and no serious damage caused.

“However, this could have had devastating consequences.”
