Police are investigating after a car crashed into a house on Grey Fold in Byram, near Selby, late on Monday night (10 November).

Officers received a call at around 11.06pm reporting that a vehicle had collided with the property, causing significant structural damage.

Fire crews attended the scene to provide structural support to the affected house, and an engineer will now assess the full extent of the damage.

No one was injured during the incident.

Police believe the car was deliberately driven into the house, and enquiries are ongoing to locate the driver and establish the full circumstances of what happened.

A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: “The investigation is underway, and there is nothing in our enquiries so far to suggest there is a wider risk to the community.”

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information that could help officers is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police.
