Police appeal for witnesses after a man is left injured in York city centre

Police are appealing for witnesses and information after an incident in York city centre.

Officers were called to a report of an altercation on Bridge Street at around 10.30pm on Sunday (25th August).

A local man, who is aged in his 20s, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening facial injuries.

A 23-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident. He has since been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

Witnesses or anyone with information that could assist the investigation are urged to come forward.
