Police appeal for information after a teenage girl is assaulted in York

The 17-year-old was attacked by a man last Tuesday (21st May)

North Yorkshire Police are appealing for information about an assault that happened in Burton Stone Lane/Crichton Bridge area of York.

It happened on Tuesday 21 May at around 9pm when a 17-year-old girl was assaulted by a man following a verbal altercation.

The suspect was wearing a distinctive red Arsenal top with a blue and white jacket over the top and is described as a white, of medium build, aged in his mid 40s, with grey hair.

Officers say the victim sustained minor injuries during the assault.
