Police appeal after woman seriously injured in assault in York

A 60 year-old woman suffered serious facial injuries after being assaulted in York.

It happened on 31st August, but details have only just been released by police.

The woman was waiting for a taxi on Micklegate just after 8pm when she was pushed over by someone.

She was taken to hospital with a fractured cheek bone and a broken nose.

Police are looking for a man in connection to it.

The description known of the suspect is a white male, mid-20s, tall in height, slim build and wearing black jogging bottoms.
