A week into the Summer holidays and many North Yorkshire families say it's already a struggle to find the extra cash to feed their kids.

Volunteers at the 'I am reusable' community foodbank in York say the six week is one of the trickiest time of the year for parents.

Sarah helps out there, but also uses the bank and tells us "It's a god send to myself and lots of people. I've got a son and he is at home at the moment eating me through house and home, every 10 minuets what can I eat, all the time."

The community bank is run by John McGall who says "we have lot of bread, lots of beans, soups, treats for the children, lots of fruit and veg, which hopefully over the six weeks we should be ok feeding the families. We've already given out some food parcels and fingers crossed we will have enough to get through to the end of the month."
