It's emerged nine people were found in the back of an uninsured and unroadworthy car in Malton.

Police pulled over the five-seater Skoda Octavia earlier this month, which had nine five passengers crammed in the back seat, and two in the boot.

That's despite two of the doors not working on the car, and officers say the front tire was so bald, the inner cord was visible.

North Yorkshire Police said it would have been "carnage" if the car was in a crash, and have confirmed the vehicle has now been seized.
