Motorcyclist dies in collision near Sherburn in Elmet

A 29-year-old motorcyclist involved in a collision near Sherburn in Elmet on Sunday (18 July) has passed away.

It happened at around 12pm on the B1222 between Sherburn in Elmet and Cawood and it has now been confirmed the man on the bike, from Hull, was pronounced dead at the scene.

It involved a black Suzuki Gsx 1300 motorcycle, a white Ford Fiesta and a grey Seat Leon.

In a statement, North Yorkshire Police said: "We can now confirm that rider of the motorcycle, a 29-year-old man from Hull, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Our thoughts are with his loved ones at this time.

"The occupants of the other vehicles sustained minor injuries and are assisting us with our enquiries.

"We’d now like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time who may have witnessed something, but who we haven’t yet spoken to."
