Moped rider suffers serious head injury in York collision
Investigation underway after two riders were injured
A moped rider has suffered a serious head injury in a collision in York.
The crash, which happened on Crichton Avenue at around 9.18pm on Tuesday night, involved a dark coloured moped, with two riders, and a silver Fiat Punto.
Both riders were taken to hospital, with one transferred to Hull Royal Infirmary. Police say both have since been discharged.
The road was closed until the following morning to allow the vehicles to be recovered and for officers to investigate the scene.
North Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision or anyone who recalls seeing the vehicles prior to the collision, to come forward.
