Cyclist airlifted to hospital following collision on Darlington Road

A man in his 70s is in a critical condition after a crash on Darlington Road near Richmond on 25th November 2025.

The incident happened at around 3.10pm and involved a silver Renault Modus and a pedal cyclist. Both were travelling from Skeeby towards Richmond when the collision occurred.

The cyclist was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries and remains in critical condition. The driver of the car was unharmed and is helping officers with their investigation.

The road was closed for around five hours for investigations and vehicle recovery, reopening at approximately 8.30pm. Emergency responders have thanked members of the public who assisted at the scene.

Police are asking for witnesses and those with dashcam footage of the crash or either vehicle prior to the incident to come forward.
