Two men arrested after stabbing in York

Police urge witnesses to come forward following attack on Lady Pecketts Yard

A man is in hospital after being stabbed on Lady Pecketts Yard near The Stonebow in York in the early hours of 16th November.

The incident happened shortly before 1am.

Two men were arrested following the attack, but one has since been released on bail while police investigations continue.

North Yorkshire Police have stressed the importance of witness information as part of their enquiries and are especially keen to speak to the driver and passengers of a dark Toyota Corolla taxi believed to have picked up a fare outside Pizza Hut on Stonebow/Pavement at around 12.40am.

Officers emphasised that those linked to the vehicle are being treated solely as witnesses.

Anyone who believes they were in the area at the time or has dash-cam or doorbell footage of any activity that might be connected to the incident is encouraged to contact North Yorkshire Police, quoting reference number 12250216342, either by emailing Marcus.Furneaux-Harris@northyorkshire.police.uk or calling 101.
