A pedestrian has died after a collision with a lorry near Leyburn in the early hours of this morning.
The milk tanker collided with the man in his 40s on the A684 at Harmby Leyburn - he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road was closed for several hours.
In a statement, North Yorkshire Police said: "The tanker driver is assisting police with their enquiries. Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or saw the pedestrian, milk tanker and or any other vehicle travelling along Harmby road between midnight and 0020hrs to come forward.
"Any witnesses with dash cam footage are asked to save the footage, and contact North Yorkshire Police on 101. "
