A 25-year-old man has been arrested after a stabbing incident outside the Moxy hotel in the Peasholm Green area of York.
The attack happened at around 5.15am today (Thursday 9th October 2025) and left a man in his 70s needing hospital treatment for injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.
The suspect was reported to have fled the scene on a bicycle. Following a search of the area, officers from the Firearms Support Unit located and arrested the man on Barbican Road at 6.24am. He remains in custody for questioning while enquiries continue.
The scene was cordoned off and closed to traffic until around 10.10am.
Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information or footage of the incident to come forward.
