Man arrested after serious assault in Thirsk

A 32 year-old man suffered serious injuries.

A 22 year-old man's been arrested - after a man was seriously injured in an assault in Thirsk.

It happened near Thirsk Industrial Estate around 5.35pm on Monday 1 November.

The victim, a 32 year-old man, is in hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The man remains in police custody.

In a statement, North Yorkshire Police said: "This follows a very positive response to previous appeals for information and officers thank the members of the public who have come forward so far.

"They would still like to hear from anyone who has information but has not yet spoken to them, including motorists with dash-cam footage or residents who have doorbell or CCTV camera footage along York Road.

"If you can assist the investigation, please call North Yorkshire Police on 101."
