Malton firefighters lay wreath in tribute to A64 crash victims

Crews were called out to the fatal collision between two vehicles last month.

Firefighters who were called out to the car crash on the A64 last month which killed a woman and two children returned to the scene last night (Tuesday, 7 September) to lay a wreath.

Crews from Malton attended the collision which happened at Flaxton between York and Malton.

A motorhome and a lorry collided opposite Jinnah restaurant near Harton at round 8pm on August 24, 2021.

Three of the passengers in the motorhome, a 44 year old woman, a nine year old girl and a five year old boy, were all sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

The fourth passenger, a six year old boy, was taken to hospital with a serious head injury.

The driver of the Motor home, a 48 year old man, was taken to hospital with serious but not believed to be life threatening, injuries.

The driver of the HGV was un-injured.
