It's believed a person's been rescued from the River Foss in York.

Emergency services were called to water near Foss Islands Road last night (Thursday, 12 November)

They were responding to reports of someone in the water.

Reports suggest the person has been rescued and taken to hospital.

On Twitter, fire station manager for Acomb & Huntington Tony Walker said:

"Acomb and York crews have just rescued a person from the river Foss in the city.

"No more details available at this time."
