Investigations into large Selby shop fire continue

It broke out in the McColl's convenience store on Barwic Parade on Saturday

Police are appealing for witnesses and information about a fire that occurred at a shop in Selby.

It happened at the McColl’s convenience store on Barwic Parade at about 1.30pm on Saturday 27 February 2021.

Extensive damage was caused to the store as a result. No staff or customers were injured, and no arrests have been made.

Officers are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

They are appealing for customers who were in the store at the time to contact them, particularly a man who initially alerted staff to the fire in the back yard of the premises.

A force spokesperson said:
