North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses and information about an assault on a North Yorkshire Police Community Officer (PCSO) that occurred in York.

It happened on Crichton Avenue at 12:30pm on Saturday 7 May when a male suspect approached the PCSO brandishing what is believed to be a BB gun.

The suspect is described as male, aged 15-17 wearing a light grey tracksuit, a dark-coloured baseball cap and dark sunglasses. He was on a mountain bike at the time.
